Be That On Purpose

I love when I stumble on something in one place, and then I begin to notice that same thing in other places. Frequency illusion, frequency bias, or the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. I recently saw this quote I’d never heard in one place, and then it’s popped up in several other places in a seemingly short amount of time since that first time reading it.

“Find out who you are and then be that on purpose.”

Dolly Parton

The music in this clip is from me zoning out with some slow tinkering on my guitar. Some reference links from this microcast:

Oh my! Thank you for including that link. I’d not yet heard of Anthropocene Reviewed, I hopped over to skim through a few episodes and I really love it! One of my kiddos got really into John Green’s history videos on YouTube recently (which are fantastic) — and this podcast: just wonderful.

Speaking of things unknown, but then found: I’d also never heard the term “bliss station”, and after searching it online — yes. I think you’re right Stepanka. Microcasting is a bliss station for me. Definition I found via a google search, “…a bliss station is a place where you disengage from the world and from all your concerns. [Joseph Campbell] calls it a place of ‘creative incubation’.”

      Big smile. Good things.

Could Microcasting be perhaps your form of a bliss station?

Hi Adam. I am glad you and your kids are fans of John Green, I like him too. The first time I saw the expression “bliss station” was in the blog you mentioned; Austen Kleon’s blog on solitude….”If I want to have some thoughts or do something with them, I’ll head over to my bliss station”.
    It caught my eye immediately.
I have lost the track with podcasting at the moment but hopefully, I will find some spare time this week..
I am looking forward to hearing more of your microcasts.
